General Information
At Practical Solutions we believe that most, if not all parents, guardians and carers are very committed to the best interests of those in their care. On occasion there are difficulties, and differences of opinions around forced marriage and honour based violence, which often lead to misunderstandings and clashes of culture due to the generational divide. Sometimes these misunderstandings can lead to activities which could be criminal or illegal, but always highly distressing.
Most of the time these differences can be ironed out between the people involved, but for the times when additional help and support become necessary to clarify your position on forced marriage and honour violence, we can assist. For instance, an innocent family holiday to the parents’ or grandparents’ country of origin may be interpreted in a negative manner, and could start a whole chain of reactions. We provide advice and assistance on this aspect, to ensure that your holiday is enjoyable, and without fear of any involvement on the part of the authorities.
